Mission Statement:
The Elizabeth Fry Society, Hamilton Branch is
committed to providing services and support, primarily
to criminalized women, and promoting social change
and individual change to reduce that conflict.
Statement of Values:
We will recruit staff, board and volunteers who
are reflective of the community we serve and who
are committed to the principles of feminism, social
justice issues, anti-racist change and anti-oppression.
We will create an environment that enables everyone
to contribute to the policies and programs of
the Society, as their abilities allow. We are
further committed to serving all clients without
discrimination, while recognizing their race,
ethnic origin, religious beliefs, language, sexual
orientation, age, disability, education and economic
background.
Vision:
To create a humane criminal justice system through
advocacy, education and empowerment.
- Goals
Provide preventative services to women at risk
of coming into conflict with the law.
Raise community awareness of issues related
to the criminal justice system, with particular
emphasis on its impact on women.
Provide alternatives to incarceration.
Provide service to women who are incarcerated.
Ensure the effective operations of the Elizabeth
Fry Society, Hamilton Branch.
